Some CB Base Antennas that are popular are the IMAX 2000 and Antron 99 verticals, however other models are made and work well include the Maco V 5/8th wave groundplane, and the Spectrum 1600 to name a few.
CB Base Antennas are on the 11 meter band (approx 35.6 feet). Therefore the antennas need to be a fraction or multiple of this length, to be considered a resonant antennas. Generally, 5/8 to up to .64 of 1 wavelength is about the highest low angle gain, under the 1 wavelenth threshold. Although unpractical, it is possible to make antennas "several" wavelengths long, and this is often done with Ham Antennas.
Some quality 5/8th wave (or .64 wavelength) antennas are the:
- Imax 2000
- Maco V58
- Shakespeare Big Stick
- Penetrator 500
The IMAX 2000 is currently the most popular, but many other high quality brands also work very well.
